Tobias was brought up in a large market town in Leicestershire. One Christmas he asked Santa to bring him a rope, and used this to swing from the highest trees. At high school he was part of a close circle of friends who positioned themselves as connoisseurs of coffee and the arts. He studied culture and the social sciences at A level and university. He now earns his money as a research professional and is experienced in producing commercially viable proposals, strategies and reports. He can manage his time and work smart to meet deadlines. He has also done more interesting stuff like teach post-modernism to advertising executives and live with families to identify new sites of media consumption for Orange. Tobias has been writing for five years, cutting his teeth on a first novel, Strange Tourists and then experimenting with different styles of writing in short stories.
